Our Goals

Preventing Gender-based Violence
We advocate teaching non-violent behaviors and conflict resolution to young adolescents. The goal is to stop any gender-based violence before it begins. Our aim is to develop young males as role models for others that will act in the spirit of Ubuntu, the spirit of our pledge.

We envision a world where all men understand to ask for consent when approaching a woman and where women feel empowered to say “no” to the advances of men and have it heard and effective. A world where sexual assault isn’t justified with cultural traditions. A world where women feel safe and men don’t have to feel awkward because they are suspected of being a potential abuser.

Female empowerment
We support education that teaches young girls that they have the right to say no. Girls need to understand that being abused is not their fault. Girls should be taught to report any rape incidents to the authorities so the persecutors will face the consequences.

Our Approach
We work with local organizations in World Cup nations.

We create awareness for their work.

We gather support from both individuals and corporate sponsors.

Why Gender Equality?
UNICEF describes gender equality as “women and men, girls and boys enjoy the same rights, resources, opportunities and protections. It does not require that girls and boys, or women and men, be the same, or that they be treated exactly alike.”

Even in the 21st century many women still lack basic rights that the rest of us expect to be innate and their birthright. We live in a world where a large number of women are still suppressed:

  • Two-thirds of all children denied school are girls.
  • Women earn only ten percent of the world’s income, yet work two-thirds of the world’s working hours.
  • Domestic violence is the single biggest cause of injury and death to women worldwide.
  • Women hold only 14 per cent of the world’s governmental seats.

Why focus on gender-based Violence?
Some gender equality limitations are regional (based on religion or culture) and some are global. Physical violence including sexual abuse of women is a global phenomenon that has deep implications on our society. Women that haven been raped can be traumatized for their entire lives. Men often get away unpunished: the crimes are often unreported. In some situations the women are even blamed and punished for the wrongdoing of men.

Sexual abuse is caused by men in the vast majority of all cases.

Rape has been called the silent war on women. Rape victims face long-lasting effects that prevent them from growing to their full potential. Women that have been abused will spread the fear, and fear creates barriers between men and women.

We believe that mutually respectful relationships between boys and girls, men and women, is the foundation upon which we can create a world where all of us are living together peacefully.

Why should men care?
Any form of sexual abuse or domestic violence causes trauma and lowers the barrier for the perpetrators to do so again. Men abusing women are creating ripple effects that affect non-violent men as well. Women that have been abused have trust issues that will spill into any future relationship she might have.
