Join the Board

Love soccer? Love volunteering? Want to be directly involved in the leadership of a registered nonprofit? Join our Board of Directors and help us make a difference. Please note the we are a working board. We don’t just talk the talk ;)

We’re looking for amazing people to fill the following positions:

TREASURER
Our treasurer will be responsible for managing out accounts and all filings with the state and the IRS. OF course we also want him to contribute to the organization beyond that.

SECRETARY
Our secretary will take notes at our board meeting. Of course the secretary is a full board member and will be involved in all other aspect of the organization as well.

DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER
It is important to show how our $$$ are being put to work. We receive images & videos from South Africa and hopefully soon from Brazil. We need someone in charge of putting captions & tags on them and uploading them to Facebook, Flickr & YouTube. The content manager would also coordinate the blogging efforts. Line up guest bloggers and work on a publishing schedule.

LIASON PERSON TO BRAZIL
Ubuntu Now is tied with soccer. We try to leverage the Soccer World Cup to create awareness for our cause. Brazil will move into the spotlight in 2014. We are looking to build relationships with partner organizations and need someone with a solid background on the country.

GUEST BLOGGERS
Guest bloggers are always welcome at Ubuntu Now. If you would like to write about  rape prevention, victim care, gender equality, the social aspects of soccer, trend and developments in Brazil we would like to hear from you.

BOARD MEETINGS
We meet once a month, usually on a Monday night. Our meetings take place in Westminster.
